Myth about an “AS IS” Sale

Some sellers think selling their home “as-is” means they can avoid disclosing problems.
Selling “as-is” means you’re not going to fix anything, but it doesn’t mean you can hide
things.
If you know about a defect (a leaky roof, a cracked foundation, or that time the basement
turned into a swimming pool), you’re legally required to disclose it.
Even in an “as-is” sale.
Trying to keep it quiet can backfire big time. You’ll probably lose the deal in the inspection
period or you could close the deal & be sued later!
Want to sell as-is the right way? Be upfront. Be honest. Price it accordingly. You’ll still find
buyers. It’s all about transparency and trust.
When I meet with sellers who have homes that need repairs, I run numbers & break down
their options.
When I’m honest with you and you’re honest with buyers, it makes for a more
straightforward process!
